This toxic stigma surrounding men in therapy is tired: I encourage anyone considering it to give it a try. I worked nearly a decade as a bartender where my clientele was mostly men who, whether they realized it or not, were coming in to be seen, to be heard, to be known, to unwind; to process some things that they're going through in a nonjudgmental space. To feel not alone.
I've always wanted to shift that dynamic into this setting, where I can really be of help, where deeper awareness can be uncovered.
